Dr Gazi Hussain is a Specialist Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who has trained at the highest level both in Australia and overseas.

Dr Gazi Hussain is the Vice President of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr Hussain has been involved with Plastic Surgery since 1992 and has been in private practice since 2001. He has developed a reputation for success in various forms of cosmetic surgery. He has a particular interest in facial rejuvenation surgery including facelifts, browlifts, rhinoplasty, otoplasty and eyelid surgery; as well as breast reduction, breast lift and abdominoplasty. As result of his extensive training he has become particularly skilled in dealing with complex reconstructive challenges and microsurgery involving facial nerve injury and trauma.

Dr Hussain attended the University of New South Wales and after graduating with an MB BS he undertook 10 years of training in surgery which culminated in being awarded a Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1999. Dr Hussain then elected to spend a year in Toronto, Canada with two of the world’s leading facial paralysis surgeons at the prestigious Toronto General Hospital and Sick Children's Hospital, - He further undertook advanced training in cosmetic surgery and microsurgery. This training has led to Dr Hussain becoming one of Australia's leading experts on facial reanimation surgery dealing with facial paralysis.

Dr Hussain has been the Supervisor of Plastic Surgery Training at Concord Hospital in Sydney since 2002, being directly responsible for the teaching of future Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Concord Hospital is one of the leading teaching hospitals in Sydney, being affiliated with Sydney University Medical School and is the home of one of Australia’s major Burns Unit, which has international status and recognition. From 2003-2009 Dr Hussain was the Head of the Plastic Surgery Unit at Gosford Hospital.

Dr Hussain's passion for ensuring the standards of Plastic Surgeons in Australia remain high has led him to becoming an instrumental member on the NSW Selection Committee of the Board of Plastic Surgery Training since 2002.This body oversees the training and selection of future Plastic Surgeons in NSW.

As one of Australia's leading experts on Facial Reanimation Surgery, Dr Hussain has published papers and presented at international meetings. Among other publications his most prominent was a chapter in the leading Plastic Surgery reference text, Mathes' Plastic Surgery.

As a popular presenter Dr Hussain is regularly requested to lecture at teaching seminars to his colleagues, juniors, fellow doctors in other specialties, and hospital nursing staff.

In 2010 Dr Hussain was appointed as Clinical Senior Lecturer in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery at Macquarie University Hospital, where overseas and Australian trained Plastic Surgeons undertake further training and study under his supervision.

He is the primary plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the Gosford region of the Central Coast of NSW having established the premier clinic encompassing surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments, Coastal Plastic Surgery.
